Closer is the debut album by Dutch girl group Close II You, which was released on 29 April 1998. The album was supported by five singles, including the Top 10-hits “Baby Don’t Go” and “Somebody”. The album debuted at #9 on the Dutch Album Top 100 and went on to peak at #8. It later received a Gold certification for selling more than 50,000 copies. The album finished as one of the biggest-selling albums of the year. It was the most successful album by a Dutch girl group since the heydays of Luv’ and the Dolly Dots.

Close II You was a Dutch girl group, created by producers Eeg van Kruysdijk en Ed van Otterdijk inspired by the Spice Girls’ popularity. In August of 1996, Natascha Scheffers, Sascha Koninkx, Nadja Nooijen, Arlice Beeldsnijder, and Marsha van de Berg formed the original line-up. In 1997, Close II You debuted with “Nice & Nasty” which became a minor hit on the Dutch official Top 40.
