Grey Eye Glances (GEG) released A Little Voodoo independently in 2002. GEG decided that they wanted more freedom to promote and tour behind this album than had when signed with Mercury/Universal. The money was raised from fans who became investors in A Little Voodoo. A 17 song demo was sent to a wishlist of producers, all of whom ultimately wanted to have something to do with the project.
