Bill Pearce was born May 20, 1926 in Carlisle, PA, and started playing the trombone when he was 10 years old. During WWll he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served as a combat rifleman in the Pacific Theater. Later he was recruted to play his trombone for the Marine Corps Band, thus he was able to entertain both Naval and Marine Corps troops until he was discharged at the war"s end.
