From early on as a child, Ernst Brandner played the violin, clarinet, xylophon and his favorite instrument, the saxophone. Later he started composing film music for commercial German films and companies who sought his skills for writing music to accompany their advertisements. His better known works include Europa March, Holiday Island, Big Ocean, Transatlantic and the popular "Fahr Lieber Mit Der Bundesbahn", from 1966 and the later "Mit Pfiff Per Bahn".
