The second (and last) single released from The Works, in 1989. The song is about a convict on death row exchanging letters with "Elisabeth". The lyrics are based on a real-life death row inmate in the USA, Willie Darden. He maintained a pen-pal relationship with Elisabeth Allen in the UK. Whilst Darden was convicted for murder, Allen and others in the US were convinced of his innocence and battled for a pardon. Darden was eventually executed in 1988.
