"Warrior" is a song by AURORA, released on January 15, 2016 as the first promotional single from her debut album All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend. It is the eighth track on the album.
The song is for AURORA fans (nicknamed warriors and weirdos). Asked if her fans had a nickname, she said to Music Norway in 2015: "Warriors! First I didn't really know what they meant about it, but then I was like well – we're all warriors, warriors of light. It's a nice thought to have. I was inspired to write a song about it."
In an interview with The 405 she said: "I can't recall last time I opened my eyes and saw the world as beautiful. Be a warrior of light, only we can make this world a better place. Let love conqueror your mind."
At a session for Red Bull, she stated: "Warrior is kind of about, what I kind of think is, the meaning of a human's life is to be kind to other humans. You know in the verse I say I can't recall last time I opened my eyes to see the word as beautiful and it's kind of about being a bit, not disappointed but I guess a bit like, the more you grow, the more you realize how many dark sides life contains in the world and people. And it can be, you know it's a very sad thing that we are doing all these things against each other and that's kind of what the song is about."
