Biography
As the name implies, the sound of Differences is anything but monotone. The source of this variety are five very individual musicians, who once melted their various tastes of music like rock, progressive, jazz, funk, heavy metal and blues together. It's a blend of impulsing riffs, musing lyrics and sometimes even saxophone parts. Though experimenting a lot they take care about not losing sight of the overall concept of their songs. In spite of the unusual song arrangements their music is not a strict composition but very emotional and vivid. Differences is funky heavy fusion rock.
Differences were founded in April 2003 by Sven Eggersdorfer (b), Michael Stelzenberger (git/voc) and Tom Kaiser (dr). For starters they practiced cover songs of bands like Blur and Millencolin to rock diverse school events, at times with the support of Philipp Petschko (voc). Soon they set their sights on writing their own songs and loosing the image of a school band, therefore they relocated their rehearsals in Sven's boiler room. In there a first punk setlist developed. With the support of other local bands like Dumpweed the band had the opportunity to play their first gigs. However, very soon they desired more variety in their music. For that reason they invited Christian Pfaffinger (g/voc) to join Differences in July 2004 to arrange new songs for even two guitars. Two months later Tom Kaiser left the band for musical and personal reasons. Nevertheless there were still some more outstanding concerts to play - Differences needed a new drummer and finally found him: Mike Völke (dr) who joined the band in December 2004. In the summer of 2005 Lui Müller (voc/sax) finally completed Differences, who gathered around November 2006 in a studio to record their first demo cd which is available now.
