"Dollhouse" is Melanie Martinez's official debut single. The music video was released on February 9, 2014, and the song was made available for digital download the day after on February 10, 2014. It is the opening track of the 4 track EP Dollhouse, and is also featured as the second track on Melanie's debut album, Cry Baby (2015).
Dollhouse is about a family that appears to be perfect on the outside looking in, yet it's far from it. A girl's family is visualized as the dolls living inside of a dollhouse that belongs to a little girl. This song has another meaning: how people view celebrities. In an interview, Melanie said, "People put them in glass boxes and think they are perfect and when something happens that shows when they are humans, people don't like that."
