Its the artist edition, so 129.99. Remember how retardedly expensive Tiger Smells a Corpse was, and it sucked?

lol @ the crowd booing when Dominick opened Cold Cave's set with harsh noise for 10 minutes at Pitchfork Fest in Chicago. Unironically the best part of the entire festival.

Dominick never ceases to amaze and disturb me at the same time. New album is fucking brilliant, quality textures with lot of experimentation through a wide range of sounds that don't seem out of place or randomly incoherent, but rather feel like a unified piece of work. That's what I get from all of his albums - that no matter how varied the sound pallete is, the album as a whole has a distinctive quality that separates it from the others. Thus, each is unique in its own way. A bit of a return to the Harsh Noise-ish Prurient of '19's Garden, but without being too abrasive and monolithic. Not as atmospheric as Creationist or Rainbow Mirror I guess, be stands there in between. All in all, excellent.

I expect a certain amount of bullshit whenever I buy cult objects, but he's just gotten ridiculous. I guess he figures anybody who doesn't want to pay his collector prices will pay for a cheap digital download instead.

did you ever see the Serial Killer series?? check his discogs. dude must have some inner cult circle for dedicated buyers who will pay literally anything. and obviously when they tried selling Colonialist Nature and Misanthrophy for literally $999 during the anniversary clearance "sale". it's all gone to his head

Yeah, he's been gouging for a long time, but it just seems to be more flagrant now than it used to be. At least it used to be his own project on releases that had a very limited run, but now its everything Hospital releases. I remember when he priced "Tiger Smells A Corpse" at 100 bucks and thinking he was crazy, but I suppose it sold.

unbelievably talented artist, yet total absolute cornball human and not necessarily in a good way, and anyone who’s ever interacted with him can confirm this

of the many, many dom fernow stories i have heard from being involved in noise, my absolute favorite is when he punished my best friend about the app Waze for 25 minutes, and then called her a “crackhead” for rejecting him

I actually had extremely pleasant interactions with him at two different No Fun Fests but I also believe anything bad about anyone in noise. Also one of those interactions involved me asking for a black metal recc when I was just getting into it and he sold me the most NSBM shit possible that isn't like, Der Sturmer or some such shit

That bit in the noisextra interview where he describes attempting to make industrial music by using doom 1 & 2 samples in tracker software is hilarious. it also gives totally new meaning to the tagline/whatever surrounding Rainbow Mirror, given the fact that album is sort of like symbolic of the whole project coming full circle : "Doom Electronics."

First part of a long new interview now on noisextra.com with Dominick talking about the early days of Prurient and him discovering Death Metal and Techno. Highly interesting! It also says on their page there'll be a Prurient box set with live material out on Hospital to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the project. That's cool, too!
