“cowboy like me” is the 11th track on Taylor Swift’s ninth studio album, evermore. It is a country song reminiscent of Taylor’s early days. It tells the story of two swindlers who fall in love through a cat-and-mouse fling “while hanging out at fancy resorts trying to score rich romantic beneficiaries”. Produced by her frequent collaborator Aaron Dessner, the track’s arrangement gradually builds throughout the song, featuring instrumentation consistent with Swift and Dessner’s country-folk aesthetic. Marcus Mumford, lead singer of Mumford & Sons, provides backing vocals for the track.
