William Holiday, or "Top Ramen" began his rap career began in 1988. Coming of age largely homeless in the San Francisco Bay area, he couch surfed his way through the best of teen times and slept in far less desirable places during the worst them. Eight years and countless rap battles later, Top R joined talents with the Earthlings in 1996. His catalog holds the better part of a dozen albums featuring several self releases in addition to numerous collaborations with members of the Strange Face family. Top Ramen has opened for Eminem as well as KRS1. It's been said that KRS1 made his decision after standing in the crowd through a whole Top R set silently, bobbing his head from start to finish. Toppers musical influences range from KRS1 to The Misfits, but encounters with police, poverty, addiction and injustice have played larger roles in shaping those cunning observations which he has been kind enough to share with us all.
