The cracking, thudding percussion is the sounds of traffic crossing a freeway exit viaduct in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. If you listen closely at around 6:00 minutes into the recording one can hear the brisk gallop of a horse-drawn taxi turning the corner and passing by. Watery echoes were created with double (two reel-to-reel recorders at differing speeds) tape delay.
