Hi again. If my musical journey of the world has taught me anything, I really enjoy folk music, even in languages I do not even understand. I discovered a lot of different cultural songs that I enjoyed, but no matter how much I tried, I still wouldn't say I like rap music, especially East European rap. I grew a passion for some Cantonese folk songs because the way they sing them sounds happy and like they tell a beautiful story. My biggest surprise is that I have been feeling nostalgic recently while listening to Vaporwave from artists on Bandcamp. The music reminds me of the old movies and arcade games I grew up with in the mid-late 1990s. Part of me likes the Vaporwave genre, but part of me is thinking, "What am I listening to and why?". What about you? What things have stood out for you from listening to your music?

thank you for all the info!! i'll try the cantonese folk, it seems great! And Vaporwave, although i think it'll be difficult to find good artists on Spotify. I recently found that i love music from carnaval de cádiz (it's a town where people write new music every year for carnival time, it has a very specific musical style). From my library, i love chanson française, j-pop, folk music from all asia too... Also, i found out that i don't listen that much the music i really appreciate (for example, the one that i listened when i was a kid), so i want to listen to it more ^^

I am confident that I will achieve this milestone very soon. Moreover, I have already successfully accomplished my goal of listening to at least one artist from every country in the world, with only a few countries left to discover.

In short, yes, an artist founded in East Germany would be considered part of Germany as a whole. I use a website called Explr.fm (https://mold.github.io/explr/) to determine what countries I have listened to music from, and their FAQ says that they use the LastFM artist tags to determine what country an artist is from by comparing the artist tags to a list of countries and demonyms.

Hey! It's impressive the amount of different artist you've listened to, congrats 👌 If wanna checked out any Spanish good folk try Camarón de la Isla (flamenco, "La leyenda del tiempo" is gold), Joaquín Díaz (he recorded very old songs) and Tanxugueiras (neo-folk), let me know your impressions!! I also like listening music from every country so if you find anything rare you wanna share you can do it🙌🙌 Good dayyy

I find they are my go-to when I want to hear the popular hits in my favourite "old world" genres with a twist.
