o, buvo ruoštasi Minuit Machine perklausymui Devilstone. Įdomu, kaip gyvai susiklausys

Ruoštasi beigi šokta (su vienu lievu judesiu). Šiaip ketvirtadienį hands down labiausiai įsiminė. Vedantis synth per tylus, per beat'ą sunkiai girdėjosi. Same shit kai kitose scenose koks post-rockas groja - nors kiti instrumentai, bet panašios bėdos. Bendrai susiklausė neblogai, bet be Hantės. estetiškai nesusižiūrėjo.

Aha, šiemet skip, nes labai jau liūdnai set list'as atrodė, nebuvo nė vienos grupės, kur būčiau norėjusi smarkiai paklausyti.

Teisingas tavo pasirinkimas. Patvirtinu, kad pernai smagiau buvo. Dar patvirtinu, kad, deja, linksmesnio line up jau nebebus, trust your festival! O SMTB ir mane pakabliavo. Linkiu Minuit technuškę sugaut kada individualiai, ko gero, ir pats užbėgčiau. Ir SMTB.

90% population of India aren't even aware of heavy metal or rock music and even if they are they don't know what's good and what's not. :P So, not much rock or metal festivals take place in India and even if there are a few organizers tend to focus on shitty tech death or metalcore/djent bands. I've only seen Testament once back in 2013 and they were really great. Skolnick rips! I was looking forward to seeing Mastodon in 2013 as well but they cancelled the tour for some unknown reasons. Anyway, there are a couple of good bands from the south-eastern parts of India. Bevar Sea and Shepherd. https://youtu.be/O7TJ2ldOaSY https://youtu.be/2MmZ6Aj0Ejs

Certainly AiC were Sabbath's true successors with a distinct and individual style of their own. I would also put Type O Negative up there as well. They also incorporated a lot of Sabbath influence but managed to create a unique atmospheric sound of their own.

I think Layne was a superior vocalist to Ozzy. No disrespect to Ozzman but he could barely attempt the notes Layne hits on some of the earlier AiC stuff ('Love, Hate, Love' and 'Bleed the Freak' are prime examples) even in his younger days. And nowadays he just seems to mumble. His vocal performance on the final Sabbath album was embarrassing to say the least. And I thought 13 was overall a really weak record. I mean it's Sabbath we're talking about. The innovators of heavy/doom metal. But it felt like a generic Sabbath worshipping doom rock/metal record. Very uninspired and contrived.

Same to you. Cheers! sabbath_in_chains sounds cool too. ;) After all Iommi's influence on Cantrell's riffs is massive. But he also has a distinctive flavor to his playing. Certainly took inspiration from Iommi but made the Alice sound his own. I love how he can switch back and forth between heavy/doom metal-leaning compositions to bluesy psych rock, acoustic and vice versa.

I'm all for the idea of artists living off their music, for some, it kinda ensures their heart stays in it and wards off any feelings of discouragement brought upon by financial failures that might befall their albums. Though sadly, others get a big head off it and start to take things for granted, then attempt to streamline their music for even larger profits. Btw, I caught a glimpse of you headbanging your head off to Candlemass' Nightfall ;) How do you like it so far? Definitely your cup of tea or perhaps too old school 4 U? :D The first wave of doom/stoner bands differ vastly from their future line of descendants. I think there was more emphasis on the atmosphere. What other doom bands have you been obsessed with lately?

I do use that script, pretty nifty thing! This just speaks volumes about how pathetically incompetent the current LFM developers are, amirite? A fella in his free time, was able to single-handedly put together an extension which restore that dead feature to life even better than it was on the old site, meanwhile they're still beating around the bush with petty 'improvements' that nobody even asked for :/ Improved production values aren't always an extra plus for me. I don't know how to articulate this personal preference but I've often found myself preferring old school production over crystal-clear production. It infuses the music with, uhm…an extra coating of character & personality? Especially with Doom, usually you have these sinister-sounding and gloomy riffs, it doesn't fit, having crisp and inhumanly flawless production - wouldn't sound as quite as edgy. Whats your take on modern production vaules? :P

Ahaa, that's the one! It's ironically fitting, what with Varg's notorious past history of church burning, he ended up having his picture on a matchstick box! :D Dunno man, if I were you, I'd leave 'em be…for nostalgia purposes ;) They're like bookmarks of your life, imprints left by your younger self, no matter how silly they seem. I believe all that hand-written about me of yours was not lost into the abyss, you can find it stashed under "To help you get started, here's your old stuff". Huh it's funny how even with the unlimited character freedom granted upon us by the old site, for the life of me I was never able to string two words together.

As luck would have it, I'm a bit familiar with Orange Goblin, heard their "Healing Through Fire" album in the past, good stuff! I will surely try out A Eulogy For The Damned this week, if it had that kind of impact on you then it must be fantastic for sure! It does seem you're on a stoner/doom kick at the moment ;) Btw if you don't mind me saying, your username rings a bell. Did you by any chance had a Burzum avatar of some sort? If so, I believe I've witnessed some of your contributions in bands' shoutboxes :D Have a great day (or night) and weekend!

Hahaha you got that right about the crazy ass mix, I have no idea how on earth did the mishmash that is my library come together! I can't make much sense of it most of the time xD Tho I believe your collection is more interesting and awe-inspiring than mine. I've always thought those two legendary eras that you mentioned represent the said bands at their utmost peak and showcase their creativity the best, but to each their own opinion ofcourse. I actually like some Doom, for instance, Candlemass's Nightfall is forever in my top lists of sheer kickassery, such timeless gem! I think it was the first of its kind too, laying the foundation for a generation of future doom-ridden bands to come! It's just that I never took the proper time to explore the genre more thoroughly. I'm still waiting for that doomy album that sparks my hunger enough to warrant a full-on exploration, much like what happened with your conversion ;D
