Rani Petersen, known simply as Reiley (born in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, 24th November 1997) is a Faroese singer-songwriter & TikTok star.

The young Faroe Islander started playing piano as a six-year-old. His interest started to fade at age 14, choosing rather to focus on gymnastics. His interest in music returned a few years later when he performed as a dancer and choir singer in his upper secondary school’s rendition of Grease.

“I started to sing more and took singing lessons,” he recalls.

Rani also enjoyed filming and producing videos. This skill, coupled with his interest in music, made it possible for him to release his music online in a visual format.

“It made sense to create short music video for social media,” says Rani. “Once I cracked that code, I was able to relay my ideas and music to people all over the world.”

To date, Rani has not released a song in the traditional format. However, he has posted many short music excerpts on his social media accounts. This is attracted great interest in his music.

Rani spent 2019 in London and Los Angeles, writing songs, creating music content and building a network of contacts in the music industry. He has an agent from the UK and has written and recorded music with producers and composers affiliated with famous artists and bands, such as Maroon 5, Katy Perry, The Chainsmokers and One Direction.

He says: “I have found my own style and artistic expression. I haven’t released any songs yet, but I have created many songs, some of which I have posted on social media. This means I have something to show.”

He won Denmark's national final for Eurovision, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2023 and will represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with his song "Breaking My Heart".
